Sherese Brewington Carr - Criminal Justice Reform;Activist
Ep. 60 - Sherese Brewington Carr was raised on a farm in the rural south graduating high school and attending two historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the 1970s. She moved to Delaware securing poisitons in state government that over time led to senior executive posts to include Deputy Commissioner, Delaware State Correctional Facilities, and currently rounding out her career as Senior Administrator Delaware Department of Labor where she advances both the rights and opportunities for migrant workers, veterans and ex-offenders seeking reentry into the labor market.

Ep. 36 - Dr. Janice Greene spent 20 years working for Boeing in human relations and innovative supplier diversity, including the South African Airways' sales campaign and Australia's Qantas Airways to create contract opportunities for Aboriginal and Trees Straight Islanders. She was President of Snohomish County NAACP and Vice-President of the NAACP Alaska, Oregon, and Washington State Area Conference. She "refired" after retirement and is now President/CEO of the Women's Business Enterprise Council of WBEC-Pacific.
Diane Jackson Chapman - Public Education Reform Professional & Activist
Ep.48 - Diane Jackson-Chapman, Ph.D., entered Indiana U. in 1970 upon graduating from the Gary, IN public school system. She was recruited to enter IU as a member of the Groups program: a program created in 1968 as a way to increase college attendance among first-generation, underrepresented students at Indiana University. Dr. Jackson Chapman is a poster girl for "project working mom" having married as an undergrad, having two children, divorced, raising her son, and all the while continuing her academic pursuits and eventually remarrying when her sons became high school students. She was at the forefront of the Georgia educational reform agenda and champion for Title I schools achieving senior positions in local and state education policymaking. Title I, Part A (Title I) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Even with a "full plate" at work and pursuing her doctorate degree, she made the time to volunteer with youth development, civil rights, and women's empowerment organizations.
